Speeches

During term three, classes worked hard on refining their public speaking skills as part of our oral language programme. Year 2-3 classes were asked to learn and recite a poem, and the year 3-4 classes worked on researching, writing and presenting an informative speech. We were thrilled with their efforts! Once students reach the senior school, they have the opportunity to compete in a school and Eastern Bay speech competition. Here are our winners for this years schools competition, and as the overall winner was only a year four...I think team two can still claim her as one of their own!

Dance Day

Dance day is held every two years at Apanui school and is always a great event that brings the community together. Classes worked hard to perfect their moves, and felt proud of their performances. Thank you to all of the families who attended!

Touch Rugby

It is fabulous to see so many Apanui pupils involved in sports. The touch season kicked off late last term, and we have a total of seven school teams. Two of these are from the middle school - coached by Mrs TeWhata and Miss Trask. They ave made a great start to the season. Keep it up kids!
