The Great Rugby Road Show

What a fabulous weekend it was in Whakatane. It was wonderful to see so many Apanui families out and about at the 'frocks on bikes' event and at the 'Great Rugby Roadshow'. What a neat town we live in!

Room Two and Three at Camp

It rained, and rained, and rained...but it didn't stop us from having a fabulous camp. Thank you to all of the marvellous parents who made our camp such a success. You rock!

Hiwi The Kiwi

On Friday we had the 'Hiwi the Kiwi Goes Fishing' show at school. This was an informative and educational show on how to look after our fish and waterways so they can be enjoyed for generations to come. You can find out more by visiting http://www.hiwithekiwi.co.nz/

Room One and Four at Camp

It was fabulous to spend the first day with these classes at camp today. They had a great day doing the walk around the spit, and kayaking and swimming in the harbour. They look set to have a great three days. Rooms two and three depart for Ohope on Wednesday.

The classes have been busy and have made a great start to their learning. Here are some shots of our kids in team two...hard at work!

go4it - pass it!

We have been having our first sessions in 'pass it' which have focused on our netball skills. Our following sessions will focus on passing skills for rugby, league, and touch. It is awesome having such incredible instructors working with our pupils.

Camp

A reminder that our class camps are only one week away! Please ensure you return your permission forms and payment for camp this week. There will be a camp meeting in the staffroom this Thursday (16th Feb) at 5.30pm.
Rooms one and four (Miss Hems and Whaea Katipa) Monday 20th - Wed 22nd February
Rooms two and three (Miss Trask, Mrs Tempeton and Mrs Seymour( Wednesday 22nd - Friday 24th February.
Children will be sent home with a final reminder and packing list on Monday.

Getting Our Groove On!

Team Two ran a disco last Friday night. This was a fundraiser for our upcoming camps. We had a great turn out and were totally impressed with your dance moves. Thank you to everyone who came and supported us!

Welcome Back!

We are thrilled that another school year has started...welcome back to our existing and new pupils. We look forward to getting to know you all. Our topics this term are centered around our school values. We have re-aligned our existing values under four new headings;
We are also looking at strategies for dealing with our feelings, with a focus on the 'STOP, THINK, DO' programme. This teaches children to make 'COOL' choices.
